||Skatepark Feasibility Study
Porirua City Council
The feasibility study investigated the siting of a skate park in Titahi Bay and considered environmental impacts, other users, design, location, safety and costs.
We developed assessment criteria to assess possible skatepark sites. These were based on research into skateparks within New Zealand and overseas, planning and design policy, principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design and the Urban Design Protocol.
Process - Community Involvement
The study was guided by a steering group and a local skater. We liaised with key organisations, stakeholders, other interested parties and individuals, Council officers and skatepark designer. We facilitated a public workshop and workshops with young skaters.
